THERAPY FOR WOMEN

Are You A Professional Woman Who's Struggling to Feel Good About Yourself?

Do you ever wish you could just be yourself and not worry about hurting someone.

Is lack of confidence and people pleasing holding you back from saying what you think and feeling important?

Are you so busy being who other people want you to be that you are exhausted and unhappy?

Maybe you feel insecure at your job and constantly worry about your work performance. As a result, perhaps you work more than you need to and struggle to achieve a healthy work-life balance. Or maybe you’re in a male-dominated field and you face a lot of gender bias and discrimination. This could aggravate your self-doubts and trigger what I would call old “trauma reactions”.

On the other hand, maybe you’re in a relationship that’s unfulfilling and you’re not getting your needs met. Although you may have second thoughts about staying with your partner, you’re afraid of being alone and don’t think you’ll ever find anyone better. Unhappy relationships from the past could make you afraid to pursue new opportunities. Part of you resents settling, but another part is scared of putting yourself out there.

Therapy is a chance to remove the roadblocks to happiness and resolve the insecurities and traumas that are keeping you stuck. With my compassionate support, I am confident that you can let go of your fears and get in touch with your authentic and amazing self.

THERAPY FOR IMPOSTER SYNDROME

Changing the memories that form the way we see ourselves also changes the way we view others. Therefore, our relationships, job performance, what we are willing to do or are able to resist, all move in a positive direction.

Many Women Struggle To See Themselves In A Positive Light

It’s no secret that self-doubt and insecurity are huge problems for women in today’s world. We face enormous pressure to look beautiful, succeed in our careers, and enjoy happy relationships. Social media has created a culture of “compare-and-despair”—there is always someone who seems prettier and happier than we are. Additionally, many of us work in male-dominated workplaces rampant with sexism and discrimination. All of these factors can trigger self-doubt and make us feel like we’re not good enough.

For many women, these feelings of low self-worth originate from trauma. Yet sadly, most people aren’t aware of how widespread trauma really is. Being traumatized doesn’t just come from living in a combat zone. Bullying, neglect, chronic illness, excessive moving, and growing up with strict or narcissistic parents can all cause trauma and impact a person’s future.

The Expectations to be a Strong and Independent Leader Often Interferes With Professionals Getting Help.

We live in a time when women are supposed to be strong, independent, and flawless. This has its benefits, but it can make a lot of women afraid to seek counseling. Many of them fear being seen as weak. As a result, they might push their feelings down and try to white-knuckle their way through the pain.

Seeking help is a sign of strength—it shows you’re courageous enough to be vulnerable and honest with yourself. You deserve a place where you can unwind, think out loud about your life, and experience deeper warmth and compassion.

As a Busy Professional You May Have Some Concerns About Therapy

  • Therapy is one hour of the week that can positively affect every hour of your waking life. You deserve to dedicate this time to yourself because of how busy you are, not in spite of it. As important as it is to work hard and be there for others, it’s equally important to slow down and take care of yourself.

  • EMDR can benefit anyone, not just people with extreme cases of PTSD. Think about it this way: if you’re not feeling good about yourself, it probably means there are things that have happened or things you’ve been taught that have made you feel this way. EMDR can help you release the emotional pain associated with these experiences. It uses a series of gentle stimulation techniques to open up pathways in the brain that talk therapy can’t access. This makes it an effective form of counseling for anxiety, depression, and a wide range of other issues.

  • Emotions are okay—you don’t have to be ashamed of them! Therapy is a space to process your emotions so that they aren’t so overwhelming in everyday life. What’s more, the healing process happens at a pace that’s right for you. If you ever feel like your emotions are too much to bear, we can slow down and work on staying grounded and calm.

Therapy Is A Chance For You To Be Yourself And Improve Your Self-Worth

Let’s face it: you probably have enough on your plate. The last thing you need is another task to try and “succeed” at. In counseling, I encourage you to step away from the mindset of productivity and just be yourself. You don’t have to perform here—there is no way to “fail” therapy. This is a chance to be yourself, explore your emotions, and incorporate who you are with how you want to live your life.

What To Expect In Suzanne’s Counseling Sessions

Counseling usually starts with the deeper work of exploring past life events and possible trauma and figuring out where your sense of low self-esteem comes from. We’ll look at how events in your life may have led to faulty conclusions about yourself and caused feelings of inferiority. This work is deeply liberating—it can help you understand that there is nothing wrong with you and that you are not at fault for your trauma. As a result, you can experience deeper self-acceptance and feel better about yourself in day-to-day life.

On a practical level, counseling can give you a blueprint for processing events in your life and staying on track with self-care. I want to help you set healthy boundaries and show you how to value and protect your personal space. It’s okay to say no and it’s okay to focus on yourself. After all, self-care is not selfish—sometimes you need to give yourself the oxygen first. Doing so makes it easier to positively impact everyone around you.

Using EMDR To Treat Unresolved Trauma and Feelings of Defeat

The main approach I use for working with people who’ve been through trauma and upsetting life events is called EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) therapy. Unlike ordinary talk therapy, this approach gets directly to the source of your emotional pain. EMDR taps into the pathways of the brain where unresolved emotions and trauma is stored, allowing you to release the negative emotions associated with your trauma.

EMDR therapy is specifically designed to uncover the causes of current unhappiness. Instead of just addressing symptoms, it gets right to the core of your issues. My clients always talk about how amazing they feel after EMDR treatment. I want you to experience the same thing.

No matter how stuck you feel right now, I am confident that counseling can help you heal from old emotional wounds, gain a new sense of empowerment, and deepen your self-love.
